What Information SoftRetic Collects and Why
The personal information that you are asked to provide and the reasons why you are asked to provide will be made clear to you at the point we ask you to provide your personal information.
If you contact us directly, we may receive additional information about you such as your name, email address, phone number, the contents of the message and/or attachments you may send us and any other information you may choose to provide.
When you register for an account, we may ask for your contact information, including items such as name, company name, address, email address and telephone number.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect in various ways, including:
- Provide, operate and maintain our platform.
- Improve, personalize and expand our platform.
- Understand and analyze how you use our platform.
- SoftRetic new products, services, features and functionality.
To give you the best possible experience using SoftRetic, we collect information from your interactions with our network. We use common internet technologies, such as cookies and web server logs. We collect this basic information from everybody, whether they have an account or not.
The information we collect about all visitors to our platform includes:
- Referring site.
- The visitor’s browser type.
- The date and time of each visitor request.
- We also collect potentially personally identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses.
We use this information to:
- Fight spam and other forms of abuse.
- Provide, test, improve, promote and personalize SoftRetic services.
- Generate aggregate, non-identifying information about how people use SoftRetic services.
We do not share, sell, rent or trade User Personal Information with third parties for commercial purposes. We do share certain aggregated, non-personally identifying information with others about how our users, collectively use SoftRetic. For example, we may share information about the popularity of different programming languages for advertising partners.
We do host first-party advertising on SoftRetic. We run genuine code from advertisers and all ad images are hosted on managed by third parties ad servers. For more details, see our section on Advertisement Policy.
We may use User Personal Information with your permission, so we can perform the services you have authorized. For example, if you indicate you are looking for work, we may contact you with opportunities. We may share User Personal Information with a limited number of third party vendors who process it on our behalf to provide or improve our service and who have agreed to privacy restrictions similar to our Privacy Statement.
SoftRetic uses third-party vendors and hosting partners for hardware, software, networking, storage and related technology we need to run SoftRetic. By using the SoftRetic platform, you authorize SoftRetic to transfer, store and use your information in the United States and any other country where we operate. All service providers and third-party vendors are required to meet our data protection standards.
We use encryption (HTTPS/TLS) to protect data transmitted to and from our site. However, no data transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, so we can’t guarantee security. You use the Service at your own risk and you’re responsible for taking reasonable measures to secure your account.
The security of your Personal Information is important to us but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we can’t guarantee its absolute security.
SoftRetic uses a variety of third-party services to diagnose errors and improve the performance of our platform. We aim to minimize the amount of personal information shared but the information may include your IP address or other identifying information. All service providers and third-party vendors are required to meet our data protection standards.
Those who engage in transactions with SoftRetic – by purchasing SoftRetic’s services or products are asked to provide additional information including as necessary the personal and financial information required to process those transactions. In each case, SoftRetic collects such information only in so far as is necessary or appropriate to fulfil the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with SoftRetic. SoftRetic does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described and visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain platform-related activities.
SoftRetic follows a standard procedure of using log files. These log files are generated when the user visit platform. All hosting companies do this and a part of the hosting service’s analytics. The information collected by log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any personally identifiable information. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking user’s movement on the platform and gathering demographic information.
Cookies and Web Beacons
Like any other platform, SoftRetic uses “cookies”. These cookies are used to store information including visitor’s preferences and the pages on the website or platform that the visitor accessed or visited. The information is used to optimize the user’s experience by customizing our platform content based on visitor’s browser type and/or other information.

We may share your account information with third parties in some circumstances, including: (1) with your consent; (2) to a service provider or partner who meets our data protection standards; (3) for the survey or research purposes, after aggregation, anonymization or pseudonymization; (4) when we have a good faith belief it is required by law, such as according to a subpoena or other legal process; (5) when we have a good faith belief that doing so will help prevent imminent harm to someone.
Tracking & Cookies
SoftRetic uses a specific cookie to facilitate the use of Google Universal Analytics for users logged-in to the Applications or the Platforms (“Logged-In User). If you are a Logged-In User, SoftRetic may use your SoftRetic user ID in combination with Google Universal Analytics and Google Analytics to track and analyze the pages of the services you visit. We do this only to better understand how to improve the platform and the other services, intending to offer improvements for all SoftRetic users and to tailor our business and marketing activities accordingly, both generally and specifically to you. Google Analytics cookies do not provide SoftRetic with any Personal Information. You can prevent Google Analytics from recognizing you on return visits to this site by disabling cookies on your browser.
Administrative Emails from SoftRetic
Sometimes we’ll send you emails about your account, service changes or new policies. You can’t opt-out of this type of “transactional” email (unless you delete your account).
When you interact with a transactional email sent from SoftRetic (such as opening an email or clicking on a particular link in an email), we may receive information about that interaction.
Non-administrative Emails from SoftRetic
Upon creating a SoftRetic account, you will opt into the SoftRetic Newsletter and other non-administrative emails. Your email address and user profile information may be stored by a third-party email provider such as Mailgun or Sendgrid. You can opt-out of non-administrative emails such as digests, newsletters and activity notifications through your account’s settings page and at the footer in any non-administrative email you receive from us.
When you interact with a non-administrative email sent from SoftRetic (such as opening an email or clicking on a particular link in an email), we may receive information about that interaction.
GDPR Data Protection Rights
We would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:
- The right to erasure – You have the right to request that we erase your data, under certain conditions.
- The right to access – You have the right to request copies of your data. We may charge you a small fee for this service.
- The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to our processing of your data, under certain conditions.
- The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your data, under certain conditions.
- The right to data portability – You have the right to request that we transfer the data that we have collected to another organization or directly to you, under certain conditions.
- The right to rectification – You have the right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request that we complete the information you believe is incomplete.
SoftRetic may collect statistics about the behaviour of visitors to its platform. SoftRetic may display this information publicly or provide it to others. However, SoftRetic does not disclose your personally identifying information.

Deleting Your Personal Information
You may request deletion of your personal information and account by emailing “[email protected]”. To protect information from accidental or malicious destruction, we may maintain residual copies for a brief period. But, if you delete your account, your information and content will be unrecoverable after that time.
SoftRetic does not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information from children under the age of 13. If you think that your child provided this kind of information on our platform, we strongly encourage you to contact us immediately and we will do our best efforts to promptly remove such information from our records.
Another part of our priority is adding protection for children while using the internet. We encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in the monitoring and guide their online activity.
